Mike, our across the street neighbor, whom we golf with once or twice a week had used the same golf ball for almost four months earlier this year and became so attached that he named it Frank. Before each shot Mike would instruct Frank on what he expected and Frank would try his best.
Trip Log
Wow, it's been nearly a month since I posted but there was nothing out of the ordinary happening.
Today, with the threat of rain, we biked the Withlacoochie trail from Inverness to Floral City and back again for a ride of 14 miles. The trail was paved and level with some small changes in elevation. We drove to Inverness in a rainstorm and Craig and Janet met us there.
Monk and Mona want to know when this social distancing will be over, it is getting old. But, we do continue to keep busy even as the rain continues to limit our time in the pool, on the court and on the course. We continue to watch "The Great Courses"
Finally resolved our cancelled October cruise. Since Viking cancelled it they gave us a voucher equivalent to 125% of what we paid or the option to get our money back.
My step-cousin Larry Carullo was stationed in Korea at the same time I was in 1971. He was in an air defense unit (Hawk) southeast of Seoul And I was north of Seoul on the DMZ. I flew a helicopter (UH-1 Huey) down to pick him up for a weekend visit.
Activities continue to be pretty laid back. Craig and Janet were up on Saturday but we only visited since he is just eight weeks from his shoulder replacement and we haven't seen them since the covid isolation started. We still play water volleyball at least 7 times a week.
Zoomed with friends for a couple of hours yesterday, Goodmans, Schweds and Holdens. Has been a while since we've seen them so it was great fun. My green light laser procedure went well on Monday and the follow up appointment yesterday says all is good.
Keeping our usual busy and our activities are not being affected by the rain. We have had a lot and it is making the grass grow more rapidly than I would like. I am having a minor outpatient procedure (green light laser) in Ocala next Monday and had my pre-admission testing yesterday.
Golfing at least 3 times, water volleyball 10 times and platform tennis 3 or 4 times keeps our weeks pretty busy. Have had a lot of storms pass through recently but they only last about 15 or 20 minutes and, so far, have left our play times alone.
