Alesa got her second shot today
Trip Log
A couple of years ago we went to Homosassa Springs State park and, as a veteran, I was given a free lifetime pass to all Florida state parks. Against all evidence to the contrary it was only good for two years. Not sure what that says about life expectancy for seniors in Florida.
Alesa has been busy streaming courses on 'The Great Courses' and has been mostly focused on history but has also taken a number of cooking courses. She has taken courses and bought books on baking bread and has been busy practicing what she has learned. BTW, her baking results are excellent.
Yesterday we got up at 5:30 to help neighbor Mike get a vaccine appointment at Publix. Three households were working on it and Alesa's phone hit the jackpot and and was given the opportunity to book an appointment so we called Mike and he came over and entered his information.
He saw his shadow but, here in Florida, that is kinda good news. Although we do have freeze warnings for the next two nights. Alesa got her first Covid shot yesterday at a Publix in Ocala. The were very efficient and they even took her an hour and a half early.
I received my second shot yesterday and Alesa has an appointment for her first on Monday (2/1). While the first shot was a piece of cake and just a sore arm for a day, I am finding the second shot quite different. I've had chills, fever and achy muscles the day after.
to private citizen tRump and take your high level support of fascism with you. What is that between your legs? Oh, it’s your tail. You say you will be back? I am sure it will be for a court appearance. Yesterday was a wonderful day, the return of hope, truth, justice and the American way!
Took about three tubs of old newspapers down to animal control yesterday. We do this on a regular basis and they were really happy to see them as they were about out of material to line the cages. The weather continues to be cool which for some unknown reason really makes us tired.
Craig and Janet came up on Monday to launch the rocket. We went up the The Villages polo fields where there is an enormous amount of open space. Alas, we were unsuccessful after many attempts and don't know for sure if it was the old engines, the starters or the batteries.
Craig brought me a rocket when he and Janet came up for Christmas Eve and I finally found some time to build it. I wasn't going to bother to paint it but had some leftover spray paint and while it isn't perfect it doesn't look too bad.
