Trip Log

December 24, 2020

Waiting for Craig and Janet to arrive, looking forward to tonight's Zoom Christmas Eve and preparing goodies. After some minor cooking prep chores I walked the yard and greeted passing neighbors. We still have tomatoes growing, peas blooming and even a peach starting.

When we checked in for golf on Monday the starter said, "I know a Eugene Fales". Turns out he was a friend of Connie's and was at Eugene's wedding. Had a couple follow us home the other night because they saw my "Erie Boy" license plate.

Getting ready for Christmas and busy tracking gift packages mailed. The USPS has a tremendous back-up and packages are 4 or 5 days late so far. At least they have ms in the right city so we expect they will be there for Christmas.

December 10, 2020

The weather has been cool in the evenings lately. Usually in the low 40s and a few times into the 30s with frost. Back up into the 70s and 80s during then day although a few stayed in the 50s. Enjoying it mostly since we can wear jeans, long sleeved shirts and sweaters.

We had a great Thanksgiving and hoping you had the same. Even though we could not be with the family we did have great zooms with them.

November 24, 2020

Since we are not going to be with our family for the holidays for the first time ever we decided to put up Christmas decorations here in Florida . The Christmas tree is up, the crepe myrtle is lit as well as the cactus. We also have little Santa hats around the house and on the cactus.

One of our favorite foods is turkey and they have gone on sale for the season. We buy one almost every time we go shopping. So far we have four. Alesa cooked the first one today and it was excellent and the weather is cooperating by being a little cooler.

November 11, 2020

First, Happy Veterans' Day to all who have served. Thank you for your service. Today was the day we had crown molding installed in the entire house.

November 6, 2020

Watched the launch of a GPS satellite on a Falcon 9 rocket last night. It was a very clear night and the rocket launched to the northeast so I was able to watch it through the first stage shutdown and the second stage ignition. It is the longest I have been able to watch a flight.

October 31, 2020

Happy Halloween. Bought candy today just in case we get some visitors tonight, Haven't had any trick-or-treaters for the last 8 Halloween nights but that insures a lot of leftovers.
