Started the day with a hike around the water retention area behind Jeff's house. A 1.78 mile walk according to fitbit/strava. Later in the day we went grocery shopping at Sprouts in Queen Creek for fresh vegetables, meat and treats for dinner.
Trip Log
Had a great night's sleep and we both woke up ready to go. Had breakfast at McDonalds and shopped at Fry's grocery store for some essentials plus. Danielle and Bailey went to work, Bri slept late and Jeff was working. At 1:30 everybody was back home, awake and fed.
Happy Memorial Day. Drove to Craig & Janet's last night and they supplied dinner for us and Zach & Cathy w/ Jaime and Gabe and we spent the night. Woke up around 3 AM and Craig drove us to the Tampa airport for a 6:10 flight to Phoenix.
Our youngest granddaughter just graduated from high school. Bridget Faye Crawford aka Bri Crawford graduated from Higley High School in Gilbert AZ this evening. We attended her graduation via a livestream which was very late because of the 3 hour time difference.
Played pickleball and shuffleboard with Craig and Janet yesterday and after they left I found an envelope on my desk. Janet saves everything so, as an effort to thin down their belongings, she passed on our wedding announcements. Thank you Janet.
Hope you all had a great day . Took a few days to totally recover from our trip and we are now back to our normal routines of water volleyball, golf and numerous other activities. These also include eating Erie chocolates and Urbaniak's meats.
Stopped at Bob's on Saturday morning to pick up our Urbaniak's meat from his freezer and a short visit. Our trip from Erie to Charlotte was very nice as the weather was perfect and the traffic was light with no delays at all.
Today was a sad day as we attended a memorial service for Mary Carol as her ashes were interred at Trinity cemetery. And it was a joyful day as we attended a celebration of Mary Carol's life at Jim and Mary Claire Brown's house after the service.
Went to Ripley and drove around town then back to the Niebauer house. Back to Erie on route 5 to drive through neighborhoods as we are considering Erie for summer rentals as well as re-retirement after the Florida experience has run its course.
Alesa, Bob and I played 9 holes at the "Orchard Ponds" golf course this morning and picked up lunch at Taco Bell on the way home. After lunch Cathy joined us for a ride through Erie and around the Peninsula where we picked up a couple of rocks for 'erosion control' back home.
