Stopped at Bob's on Saturday morning to pick up our Urbaniak's meat from his freezer and a short visit. Our trip from Erie to Charlotte was very nice as the weather was perfect and the traffic was light with no delays at all.
Trip Log
Today was a sad day as we attended a memorial service for Mary Carol as her ashes were interred at Trinity cemetery. And it was a joyful day as we attended a celebration of Mary Carol's life at Jim and Mary Claire Brown's house after the service.
Went to Ripley and drove around town then back to the Niebauer house. Back to Erie on route 5 to drive through neighborhoods as we are considering Erie for summer rentals as well as re-retirement after the Florida experience has run its course.
Alesa, Bob and I played 9 holes at the "Orchard Ponds" golf course this morning and picked up lunch at Taco Bell on the way home. After lunch Cathy joined us for a ride through Erie and around the Peninsula where we picked up a couple of rocks for 'erosion control' back home.
Picked Elyse up at her apartment at 9 and took her out for breakfast at iHop before dropping her off and heading to Erie. The trip was very enjoyable and the weather was perfect. We took the route we have always taken to Erie and the springtime countryside was beautiful and nostalgic.
Spent part of the morning at Mike's then off to State College to visit with Elyse. We had reservations at 'The Graduate' for 4 PM. We arrived at 2 and got gas and shopped at Sam's Club. We called the hotel and they let us check in early.
We went to King of Prussia mall for lunch with the Schweds at the Grand Lux Cafe. They didn't take reservations so we registered for them to text us when our table was ready.
Today we all went out to Mike's soon-to-be-purchased property. He will close on the property in a few weeks but since all the requirements are being met he has permission to visit and begin some yard work.
Our Co-ed water volleyball tournament was last Sunday but was stopped due to lightning after 6 of 11 games. It is scheduled to resume next Sunday but we are out of town until the day after so they will need substitutes. We feel bad but they understand.
Today was the last full day with Steve and Laura and it did not disappoint as it was Pickleball day. I am still nursing a sunburned lower lip and want to limit my sun exposure. So Alesa walked with Steve and Laura over to Gene and Connie's.
