We left home at about 3:30 AM on Friday and arrived at The Villages about 7:15 that night. I drove to just below Florence, S.C. and Alesa drove the rest of the way. It was a good trip except for some nasty rainstorms around Jacksonville.
Trip Log
Today is my 66th birthday and thanks to everyone for the birthday wishes. I feel great and had a wonderful day. Alesa and I went golfing, she took me to Outback for a steak dinner and then back home for some ice cream cake.
We had a showing right before the open house and I am now watching golf waiting for more people to come. One lady already stopped in on her way home from church. Jeff stopped earlier to pick up Ginger and Alesa is taking Elyse home.
This is Elyse's birthday weekend upcoming and we are looking forward to the diversion and her company. We will have another open house this weekend but we have settled into the process and are taking it a little more in stride and even golfed this week.
Bridget is over for her birthday weekend; shopping, a movie and lots of sweets. Nana and Bridget are practicing the recorder and we are getting ready for another open house this afternoon. It has been hot but should be cooling back down this week.
Mike and family, along with friends who had recently moved to Florida, rented a cabin at French Creek State Park for an extended weekend. Alesa and I went up last night for a visit and to see Ellie since we didn't see her on Saturday for her 13th birthday. Wow, we have a teenage granddaughter.
Tonight we went over for Annika's spring concert. She played the bells, the violin and sang in the chorus. There was also an art show going on so we got to see her picture. We also stopped by the new memory garden where Mike and Lisa bought stones for me and Lisa's dad.
Bridget is 10 today. We went down to her house to help celebrate. We also sold our large electric fireplace on Craigslist and they picked it up on Monday.
Tonight was the Abington Junior High School Spring Strings concert. As the musicians get older they get much better and the concert was quite good. We had a second open house on Sunday and we continue to show the house. We had a few people come back for second looks and one made an offer.
We had a good turnout at the open house, about 6 people. A couple of people have expressed interest from the previous showings but have been delayed for one reason or another. We continue to show the house and even made up a sales brochure and will have another open house on Sunday.
