We have had Ginger for the last 3 days while Jeff and family are at Bear Creek for a few days of skiing. We are leaving tomorrow morning for a week of skiing at Peek'n Peak after a night at Bob and Cathy's. We have been hoping for snow but the 4 feet they may get is a little much.
Trip Log
Last night we attended Elyse's Abington Junior High School Winter Concert. She is quite a young lady and did a very good job. I must say we enjoyed the concert overall because the musicians were quite good, especially the chamber orchestra.
Last night we took Bailey and Jeff to a Philadelphia Wings Lacrosse game at the Wells Fargo Center for his birthday weekend. It is an abbreviated weekend because he has to be at his Grandmothers birthday party today.
On our 43rd anniversary we went to the Whip where Alesa had bangers and mash, I had the shepard's pie and we both tasted the various ales. Bailey and Bridget came over that evening while their parents shopped.
All the snow melted on Christmas day with the exception of the snowgirl, although she is listing a bit. We spent Christmas relaxing and visiting with the new next door neighbors. They are natives of Baghdad who the UN has relocated to the US as refugees, an older couple with two adult sons.
Last night we hosted a Christmas party with a few friends. Today we had the family over for the day as has been the Christmas tradition. We started with a treasure hunt for the kids, they had to solve puzzles and decode clues as they hunted for their treasure chests.
Today is the first day of Winter and the world didn't end as predicted so I guess I had better do some Christmas shopping since my primary plan fell through. Alesa, always the optimist, says the day isn't over. We went over to Mike's this morning to attend the Overlook Winter Concert at 9:30.
Spent the last few days building a headboard for our bed since we couldn't find the one we wanted. Installed it today and will wait for it to 'cure' before we paint it black. Alesa has finished Christmas shopping so we are settling in for a long winter's nap.
Today we drove up to Bethlehem, Pa., Christmas City. It is one of the many options for a summer home once we sell the house. The historic city was all decorated and crowded with people and many craft vendors set up in temporary sheds on the street and in the parks.
