Yesterday was Steve and Laura's last full day with us so we made sure it was a full one. Craig and Janet joined us in the morning and we all went out for breakfast at the Metro Diner.
Trip Log
Today was Steve and Laura's third full day here so we kept them busy playing pickleball, sand tennis, shuffleboard and bocce before heading to the pool and back home for a lunch of sandwiches made from leftover grilled steak from last night's dinner.
Today Steve and I along with Ed and his friend, Ken drove down to Tarpon Springs for a half day fishing trip with Gulfstar in the Gulf of Mexico. The weather was perfect, we all had a great time and caught a lot of Grunts.
Watched the TESS launch on Monday evening and went to the Home Brewers' Club meeting on Tuesday night. The club is having their annual brewing competition at a local Winery/Brewery/ Restaurant in May and I'm getting active again to help judge.
Last night was the last Erie club meeting of the season (until October) and we had an unexpectedly large crowd, near 90. Good thing I ordered extra subs for the night. Usually the snowbirds are gone by now and the turnout is low, BUT.
Alesa started her watercolor class on Wednesday as well as the first physical therapy session for her back. She is already doing the right exercises so she will go again next week and they will review her exercises then she will be on her own.
Alesa was watching a baking show the other day and they were baking donuts and they looked pretty good. So, on a trip to Michaels to buy Alesa's supplies for her watercoloring class we bought a donut baking pan.
Alesa is in physical therapy for a sore back (slipped disk) and nursing a sore knee (being scoped next month for a torn meniscus) so she has slowed down her physical activity a bit. We are taking the opportunity to visit places in Florida where we have not been.
Sunday night was a Platform Tennis Club meeting with entertainment. Brian Gillie is one of the members and he performed free of charge for the club. He is a professional entertainer and does the 'History of Rock and Roll" and sings and entertains his way through it.
Went to another financial workshop including a dinner at the Nancy Lopez Country Club. We liked this group so we met with the financial and insurance guys and they say we are doing the right things and we are set to meet with the lawyer (elder law and estate planning) in early May.
