Since both Alesa and Jeff got new tennis rackets for Christmas we had to play at the first possible moment. Thursday was that moment so the three of us drove over to the high school courts and played for about a half an hour. It was 15 degrees and windy so we didn't last long.
Trip Log
Yesterday I was feeling a little poorly and didn't feel much like shopping (When do I?) so I stayed here while Alesa, Jeff, Danielle, Bailey and Bridget headed out to the Lancaster outlets for a day of shopping.
Watched Bailey and Bridget open gifts this morning. This afternoon went to the Schwed's where they hosted a dinner for Bob & Ann Goodman and ourselves. .Jeff and family headed off to Danielle's family's Christmas party at her mother's.
The Christmas party started around 1 and Mike and Lisa arrived before 2 and then all were here. The kids were doing Karaoke downstairs and then the serious eating began.
We brought the girls back with us to Jeff's this morning and Mike & Lisa will come over tomorrow for the Christmas celebration which we always do on Christmas eve. Today we decorated cookies, did a lot of prep for Christmas eve, played games and just played.
After the girls got home from swimming practice Alesa broke out her new art set and they all drew/painted pictures. After dinner they played 'Exploding Kitty' which was great fun.
Today we went to lunch at Ryans pub in Manayunk with Mike and Lisa. Mike works in Manayunk and Lisa had off so we all met for lunch. We then headed over to Mike's to spend the night.
Left around 8 AM Monday morning, spent the night in Lumberton, NC and arrived at Jeff's before 3 on Tuesday afternoon. Had great weather with no traffic problems, heavy but moving. Have been spending our time here shopping for Christmas meals, playing games and updating my phone.
Headed up to Lake Sumter Landing town center tonight to see the Blues Brothers show. It was a good show and we connected with some friends, watched the space station fly over and left early because we are driving out early tomorrow morning for Pennsylvania for Christmas.
For a few days, the Villages Model Train Club is displaying multiple layouts at the Colony Cottage Recreation Center. While Alesa was working on Christmas cookies and has absolutely no interest in model trains, I took the golf cart up and toured their displays.
