This morning was a Hurricane Expo at the Rohan Rec Center. We call these 'free pencil days' as they have a lot of handouts. Alesa and I went down and learned a few things about available services.
Trip Log
I have been a member of the villages home brewers' club for about five years now, even before we moved here. After a couple of years I stopped going because I just never found time to brew some beer even though I had a couple of kits.
Alesa ventured away from the house for the first time since her scoping last week. We went to Wawa for coffee then to Walmart for some shopping. The neighbors loaned her a four footed cane which is easier than the crutches when she goes out.
Alesa continues to heal well, she is up and walking around with one crutch just in case she needs it. I golfed this morning with Dan, Mike and Steve then rode my motorcycle over to the Leesburg Bikefest this afternoon. It is quite a large event and I parked and walked around for a while.
Alesa tried beach tennis last week as an activity which would be less damaging to her knees and replace some of her platform tennis time. Since she knows the reporter who came to report on the sport, he interviewed her.
Alesa had her meniscus scoped on Wednesday and is recovering nicely. She was scheduled for 2 PM and was prepped but the anesthesiologist was an 1:45 late so we had to sit around and wait. Otherwise the staff was wonderful.
Yesterday was Steve and Laura's last full day with us so we made sure it was a full one. Craig and Janet joined us in the morning and we all went out for breakfast at the Metro Diner.
Today was Steve and Laura's third full day here so we kept them busy playing pickleball, sand tennis, shuffleboard and bocce before heading to the pool and back home for a lunch of sandwiches made from leftover grilled steak from last night's dinner.
Today Steve and I along with Ed and his friend, Ken drove down to Tarpon Springs for a half day fishing trip with Gulfstar in the Gulf of Mexico. The weather was perfect, we all had a great time and caught a lot of Grunts.
Watched the TESS launch on Monday evening and went to the Home Brewers' Club meeting on Tuesday night. The club is having their annual brewing competition at a local Winery/Brewery/ Restaurant in May and I'm getting active again to help judge.
