We have been busy since the last post. We spent the day with Janet at Craig's surgery and he is recuperating well. In the hospital a night and not much pain. We were going to visit the week after but they came up here instead. He was doing very well and just wanted to get out of the house.
Trip Log
Been back for a while but so many things have been keeping us busy. Janie passed away while we were gone so we have been spending time with Mike as extra support. Lois sold her house and moved on the 5th and we have kept busy helping her pack and dispose of unwanted items.
Been home four days now and are starting to catch up. We have played platform tennis a couple of times and did a bit of yard work, mowing, weeding and trimming. Shopping and catching up with the neighbors filled in the rest of the time.
The train stopped in Florence at about midnight for a few minutes to refuel and take on fresh water. Alesa was a bit uncomfortable in the upper berth so we switched places and we both slept quite well for the rest of the night. Both bunks were about 7 feet long so I had no problem.
It has been an awesome trip and we are topping it off with a return trip on the Amtrak Auto Train. We left Jeff's at around 8 this morning and arrived in Lorton at 10:30. We ate breakfast at McDonalds and then walked around the plaza until 11:30 when the train station opens.
While the rest of the family shopped for gardening supplies, Bridget and I made two batches of treats, one with strawberry marshmallows and on with M&Ms added. After gardening, dinner and some TV the family is now playing Chinese Checkers.
Since we have been so busy, Tim, our financial advisor was nice enough to meet with us at the house he is leasing in the Natural Lands Trust Stroud Preserve. He is there on the weekends and it is only 23 miles from Jeff's and saves us a trip into downtown Philly.
Helped Bridget make Rice Krispy treats and played badminton and 'Seven' at Jeff's yesterday. Went to Mike's this morning to see Elyse off to Paris this afternoon. She has to be at the school at 5 to meet her group for 9:30 flight from Philadelphia to Charles de Gaulle/Roissy in Paris.
Growing up, we always put milkweed sap on our warts to clear them up and it always worked. I've had a small skin tag on the inside of my left elbow and it was starting to bother me. So, I thought, why not milkweed sap?
Visited with Bob and Ann Goodman on our way over to Mike's. Elyse was just back from the shore and had to have her car towed as it died on the way home (Mike thinks he knows the problem). Annika was babysitting for her cousins and Mike and Lisa were at work.
