It's been mostly cold and windy and sometimes wet over the last couple of weeks. Tonight we went up to the Mardi Gras celebration at Lake Sumter landing, walked around the square and watched some of the groups. It was a good time but a little windy and cool.
Trip Log
Ordered a custom pad for the bench. Put on temporary pads and moved the bench inside to try various configurations. Last week we had all of the 15 amp breakers trip so I contacted SECO ( our local power company) and they directed us to the village's warranty department.
The bed Alesa had when she was small has been kicking around the Niebauer family and finally ended up in our attic.
Was supposed to golf on a championship course this afternoon but the rain kept us away so we headed off to the 'The World of Beer" in Brownwood to use one of our Christmas presents. Yes, that is a giant pretzel hanging there.
Sunday, our usual neighbor golfing day, was cold, wet and windy and we all headed out but the neighbors turned around half way there and I turned around and brought Alesa home shortly thereafter.
Last night was the January Erie Club meeting and we had quite a turnout. Expecting 90 and got about 120 and had to put up extra tables. It was horse racing night and we served pizza and salad. We only had a half a pizza left of 25 pies. Alesa brought that home, she loves Hungry Howies pizzas.
Didn't win the $900 million powerball lottery so we'll have to stick with our current plan. The weather has been cooler and it feels good but the traffic is terrible as all the snow birds are coming back and seem to have forgot how to drive, primarily the roundabouts and the golf carts.
Been recovering since our return home. Craig and Janet came up for New Year's Eve and we played pickleball. It felt good to be active again. They all went to bed around 10 but I stayed up and went over to the Gilchrist village neighborhood driveway party.
Great visit up north for the holidays. Got back home about 4:30 today. Watched Saturday night football at Jeff's along with old home movies and Sunday football at Mike's and left Jeff's on Monday Morning. Made reservations in Florence, SC for Monday night. Traffic was very heavy all the way.
We hosted the family Christmas Eve party at Jeff and Danielle's house and everyone had a wonderful time. We started with a ham dinner with plenty of other fixin's.
