Today we toured the northwest third of the island along a 217 mile scenic drove. Perfect weather and beautiful scenery.
Trip Log
Drove to PEI today and are settled into our condo at "The Gables" near the "Anne of Green Gables" house. Went grocery shopping and ate a great dinner at "Sou'West". Now back at the condo getting ready to attack the island in the morning.
Toured Campobello Island in Canada to include the Roosevelt Cottage, the deep water port at Head Harbor and the Head lighthouse.
Yesterday was Steve's last day of guiding so today was a work around the house day and we got involved with the projects. I sent split wood down a chute into their basement while Steve stacked it for the winter heating season. Alesa and Laura stripped wallpaper from the bathroom.
Nice days here in Maine. It's hotter here then back home in Florida. Went to the farmers market in Princeton. Should be caught up on our sleep by tomorrow.
This morning at 4AM, neighbor Lois took us to the Sanford airport for a flight to Bangor, Me. We took Allegient airlines and were very pleased with the flight. They have very inexpensive flights but charge for every little thing.
A sad day as the girls are heading home on a 2:15 flight out of Orlando. It was an awesome visit but I am sure they are anxious to get home in time for school to start the day after Labor Day. They landed in Philly at 4:30 and are now home safe and sound.
The girls went back to the archery range and were able to shoot for quite a while since they have already had the necessary training.
Saturday we took the girls to Abbate's in a driving rain. They spent the night instead of going to Scooter with us but it worked out because it was rained out and they had a good time with friends. We picked them up on Sunday afternoon and relaxed the rest of the day.
Yesterday, Annika went to a rec center with Alesa and learned how to play pool. Then, while Alesa was at Tai-chi the girls and I swam at the pool. The ladies then went to the movies and saw 'The Fantastic 4'.
