Trip Log

October 1, 2015

We left Grand Lake Stream for Sugarloaf. Steve and Laura will be moving back to their condo for the winter and we will spend the next two nights here before flying back home. They had work done on the condo and wanted to check it and spend the homecoming weekend there.

September 30, 2015

A rainy day. We had breakfast at Art and Sally's and then back to the house to pack for tomorrow's trip to Sugarloaf.

September 29, 2015

Steve guided today for what he hopes is the last time this year. The ladies went into Calais to shop and get their hair done and I put a roof on the new woodshed built on the side of the house

September 28, 2015

Steve guided today and I took a long walk while the ladies cooked. It was a beautiful day and the ladies walked in the afternoon. Last night we had a great view of the super moon lunar eclipse, blood moon.

September 27, 2015

Back in Grand Lake Stream after an 8 hour trip from Baddeck, Nova Scotia. Back in time to watch the end of the Eagles win. And Steve just sent a picture he took in the mine yesterday.

September 26, 2015

We toured the Alexander Graham Bell museum in Baddeck then headed across the island to the Fortress of Louisbourg. Bell did a lot more than just invent the telephone. After lunch we decided to visit but not tour the fortress then do the mine museum tour in Glace Bay.

The Cabot Trail, named one of the best road trips in the world by Lonely Planet, is a trail that winds through stunning landscapes, along the Margaree River, a Canadian Heritage Salmon River, and through spectacular rugged highlands of the Cape Breton Highlands National Park of Canada.

Today was a travel day. We left the Gables and drove to Wood Islands on the southeast side of the island. We caught the 11:15 ferry from PEI across the Northumberland Strait to Nova Scotia, a 75 minute ride. It was a good trip but we didn't see any whales.

September 23, 2015

We all played 18 holes on the south side of the island where Steve and I played yesterday, Clyde River Country Club. The weather was perfect and so was the company and the scenery.

September 22, 2015

We went to the 'Green Gables' house then into Charlottestown, the capital of PEI. On the way we stopped to watch them raking for oysters. After a short tour and lunch the girls went to see the play "Anne & Gilbert" while Steve and I golfed 9 at the Clyde River Country Club.
