Alesa's pineapples are growing up. Taking pictures so when some critter gets them we'll have a record. The Fales bought a house and will be closing at the end of July. The Carullos had us over for dinner on Sunday night since they are headed back north at the end of the month.
Trip Log
Eugene and Connie Fales came down from Atlanta last Friday to look at homes here in The Villages. Eugene is Laura's nephew, Betsey's son. They visited us with Betsey and Jennifer last year and liked it and thought they may want to retire here.
Watched the Atlas 5 OA-6 launch on the Tuesday night before Easter. It launched at 11:05 PM, the sky was clear and it was an awesome sight. Easter Sunday we had Paul and Carol, Ann and Ed and his sister Bunni over for an Easter dinner.
Craig, Roni and Denny came up on St. Patrick's day and we all played pickleball. Later that evening we received a call from Denny to tell us Alesa's cousin, Larry (Roni's brother) had passed away earlier that day.
Roni and Denny checked into a trailer at the Blueberry Hill campground in Bushnell (15 miles south) for the next month and stopped over today to attend the St. Patrick's Day celebration at Lake Sumter landing. Alesa's bagpipe instructor was leading a group and we stayed for their show.
Tonight's Erie Club meeting was Casino night. You paid $5 for $500 of play money, then played blackjack, Texas hold-em, roulette, chuck-a-luck and roll three to increase your stake for cash prizes at the end. It was fun even though I didn't play and Alesa didn't even go.
Alesa had a race in Apollo Beach on Saturday and was going to take the bus but caught a ride with another paddler and I had a chance to catch up on a number of things. Janet's sister, Mary Beth, and her husband, Don, are visiting Craig and Janet for a week or so.
Slowly recuperating from the trip north, we both caught a bit of a cold and I had a sore shoulder from somewhere. Wednesday night was the annual Erie Club golf tournament at the Continental Country Club just outside The Villages.
We are back home in the Villages, or the 'Bubble' as Alesa calls it. We spent Tuesday and Wednesday night at Jeffrey's and headed out at 7:30 on Thursday morning when everyone left for work or school. We ended up driving the entire way home, arriving at 11PM.
Drove from Butler to Mike's house yesterday afternoon. Today, while everybody was at work or school, Alesa and I took the train downtown to visit with Tim, our finance guy, on the 40th floor of Commerce Square. Afterwards, we walked around Chinatown then ate chinese at Reading Terminal Market.
