Trip Log

December 9, 2014

We went to the Lake Hills School Holiday program where the students performed. All 200 of them performed I groups and paraded, sung, danced and even signed "Let there be peace on earth" while a teacher sung the words. But most of all they smiled and, boy, did they smile.

December 5, 2014

Today, after watching the Orion launch from our lanai, we took the presents to the school along with a check for their emergency fund, some more clothes, bibs and throws. Later while Alesa paddled I had the muffler replaced on the golf cart under warranty, it was rattling.

December 4, 2014

Monday we picked up the 200 or so holiday presents the TBR shoppers bought for the students of the Lake Hills School and today we met to wrap them all. It took less than 2 hours and we now have them in the truck for a tomorrow delivery.

November 30, 2014

All the holiday guests are gone and safely home, but are surely missed. Mike and family visited with Alesa's youngest sister (Michelle) and her family in the Raleigh area for the night before continuing home today.

November 28, 2014

Wednesday we met Mike and family at Lynn's house in Lakeland where we had a little get together, Zach and family came over and Grandma Niebauer was there. Mike an Tony tended a campfire until late and Alesa and I were home sleeping by the time Mike and family got here for the night.

November 26, 2014

Over 5 1/2 inches of rain in the last 24 hours. At least we don't have to shovel it.

November 25, 2014

Today we went to Blue Springs State Park on the St. Johns river to kayak among the manatees with Mike and family and the Abbate's. Just as we were about to get on the kayaks it started to rain and rain hard so we opted for a rain check and walked on the boardwalk instead.

November 24, 2014

Mike and family arrived last night after a night with Lisa's cousin in Charlotte. We took the girls out driving in the golf cart and today we went to Lake Okahumpka State Park. Mike and I played 9 holes of Frisbee golf while the girls walked and took pictures for Annika's school assignment.

November 16, 2014

As opposed to last week this was a very busy week. We were responsible for the subs, chips and veggie trays for the Erie Club meeting on Thursday night. We had a "Bunco" night and things went very well and everyone was well fed.

November 12, 2014

Kind of a quiet week. Alesa paddled and made sure we played platform tennis every day. We golfed a little and played the Lopez championship course. They had coyote silhouettes on the course to keep the birds away. Must be working because we didn't see any birds.
