Today was Mike's annual tailgate party and he had quite a crowd of friends, neighbors and relatives. It was standing room only when the game started at 4PM.
Trip Log
Yesterday we helped get ready for the tailgate party. Today I went to breakfast with Mike and we stopped to get a few pieces of lumber to finish the front door frame. We then spent much of the day at the girls' swimming time trials in preparation for their upcoming swimming season.
Arrived at Mike's and got settled into the basement 'apartment' before the Elyse and Annika got home from school. Mike and Lisa got home a little later. Today, while they were all gone, we did chores to get ready for the tailgate party on Sunday.
Yesterday we woke up to frost on the windshield but it was melted by the time we went out. We went up to Exton for the day and since we were going right by, I got a flu shot at the Coatesville VA hospital. We stopped at the car dealer to get the nitrogen topped off in our car tires.
Saturday, Bridget was still at an overnight birthday party so we all went to the Wyncote country club to use the driving range and the practice green. The weather has been beautiful, clear and cool, and the leaves are changing, awesome!
Left home at about 3AM Thursday and after a few miles, turned around to turn on the A/C just in case it gets hot and humid while we are gone. Got to Jeff's house around 7PM after a long day. No problems except I had to drive the whole way since Alesa had a sore back.
It is starting to get more crowded down here as another winter season begins. We joined a platform tennis league and we have games every Tuesday and Thursday. The first Erie Club meeting of the season was last Thursday and we had ox roast, brought from Erie, and music by 'Ron the Music Man'.
Have been running a games group on Monday morning for the last 26 weeks and yesterday were the last games of the summer season and we had a party at the new Manatee Rec Center last night. We start the winter season on Monday.
It is fall and the days are beginning to stay below 90 degrees. Everyday looks like rain but it only rains about every 3rd day, then usually less than a quarter of an inch. Last week the cape had a couple of launches.
Alesa and I are chairing a committee for the 'This Boat Rocks' dragon boat club to provide Christmas gifts for the 200 or so students at the Lake Hills School. It is a special needs school run by Lake county public school system in Howie-in-the-Hills.
