Welcomed the new year at home and golfed new years day at the new country club, Belle Glade. We did great on the front nine but lousy on the back nine. It was a little cool on Friday so we kind of hibernated. Saturday we tried the course with the 6 inch holes.
Trip Log
Spent the last couple of days recuperating from the trip and resting. Alesa has a cold so we haven't even golfed or played platform tennis. Hopefully she will feel well enough to golf tomorrow as we have a tee time at 1:08 at the new championship course.
What an awesome Christmas we had! We are now back at home and when we get caught up Alesa will practice on her new Dulcimer and me on my new guitar. We left Jeff's around 9AM on Sunday and drove by DC to McGaheysville, Va. to visit Alesa's aunt Mary Hulvey who will be 95 in April.
Jeff and family headed up to the Poconos for a Christmas party with Danielle’s aunt and her family and they will be back this evening for a neighborhood party. Alesa and I went over to Mike’s to see the Abbates, their old neighbors who now live in Mt Dora, Florida.
Spent Christmas Eve at Mike’s and watched the girls open their presents. On Christmas we visited with the Goodmans at Shannondell, had lunch, walked and played pool with them before heading over to Jeff’s. He was having a party for Danielle’s family so we visited with them.
We had another great Christmas eve with the family. Mike and family hosted this year. We started at noon, visited for a while, ate dinner and opened presents. We all then played various instruments and sang.
After brunch with the Schweds at the Happy Days Diner we headed over to Mike's. Sue and Ken will be heading down to their rented condo in Delray Beach on Christmas day and we are planning a visit sometime in February.
The kids were off from school today and Jeff is on vacation for the rest of the year so we had a restful morning, went grocery shopping then we went bowling. They didn't have a ball with holes big enough for my fingers but we all had fun just the same.
It is the first day of Winter so skiing was on the schedule. Jeff and Bailey went up to Ski Roundtop in the morning so Bailey could work out with his ski team.
Yesterday, Lake Hills School had their WinterFest where Santa handed out the gifts we provided, a local church group performed Christmas Carols, The Villages clowns performed and the kids decorated cookies. They all appeared to have a great time.
