Mike and family arrived last night after a night with Lisa's cousin in Charlotte. We took the girls out driving in the golf cart and today we went to Lake Okahumpka State Park. Mike and I played 9 holes of Frisbee golf while the girls walked and took pictures for Annika's school assignment.
Trip Log
As opposed to last week this was a very busy week. We were responsible for the subs, chips and veggie trays for the Erie Club meeting on Thursday night. We had a "Bunco" night and things went very well and everyone was well fed.
Kind of a quiet week. Alesa paddled and made sure we played platform tennis every day. We golfed a little and played the Lopez championship course. They had coyote silhouettes on the course to keep the birds away. Must be working because we didn't see any birds.
It's November and the clocks are set back and it's getting chilly. 39 degrees on Saturday morning with a high of 62. It is starting to warm up today and hit 80. We golfed yesterday after a long layoff and did pretty well and we also turned in our ballots since we voted by mail.
Alesa paddled this afternoon and Craig and Janet came in about 4 for a weekend stay. They will be leaving Sunday about noon since they have decided to begin the process of moving from Naples up to the Tampa area and will be scouting out homes.
After Paddle Ball this morning we took the material collected at the TBR drive last night to Lake Hills School and they were elated. We also attended a few of their activities and made sure Gabbie, a clown who belongs to TBR, had what she needed to entertain the kids.
Tonight TBR had their quarterly social and we also conducted a clothes drive for the Lake Hills Special Needs School. We collected over 30 bags of clothes and other necessities. We also had a 50-50 and the winner donated his winnings back to the school.
We left Jeff's at about 8AM on Monday, just after everyone had left for school or work. It was an uneventful trip and we arrived home about 11:45PM. We did get to watch Monday night football on NFL Mobile and arrived home just as Dallas was losing in OT.
Today was Mike's annual tailgate party and he had quite a crowd of friends, neighbors and relatives. It was standing room only when the game started at 4PM.
Yesterday we helped get ready for the tailgate party. Today I went to breakfast with Mike and we stopped to get a few pieces of lumber to finish the front door frame. We then spent much of the day at the girls' swimming time trials in preparation for their upcoming swimming season.
