It has been a medical week. They came to measure for our new countertops last Monday then we went to a Medicare seminar. It's getting to be that time. On Tuesday morning I went to the VA hospital in Philadelphia for a four day stay.
Trip Log
Tomorrow they come to measure for the new kitchen countertops so we pulled off the old ones to refinish the walls and retrofit the cabinets for the Zodiaq countertops. We aren't going to have a backsplash or the same overhang so more of the wall and cabinet fronts will be visible.
Today is 9/10/11 and we continue to settle in. We revisited our kitchen countertop quotes and will order on Monday. Mike and the girls came over for a visit today and Jeff & Danielle brought Bailey and Bridget over to spend the weekend.
We left Lampe at around 11 am on Tuesday and arrived home around 6:15 that evening. The weather was clear when we started but we got stuck behind a slow truck for about 50 miles. It got as low as 5 mph up the hills.
Today was 'Take your little brother to the zoo' day. Since Bob and and Cathy haven't been to the zoo for a few years we picked them up and took them to the zoo. It's another hot and humid day so we then went to Whippie Dip for some black raspberry ice cream.
We head home on Tuesday and we are ready. It has been another great summer but getting a little redundant. Last Saturday we biked around the peninsula and Sunday Lynn & Tony spent the night. It was hectic because they were flying home on Monday and their flight was cancelled due to Irene.
Monday we drove out to the new Erie Bluffs State Park and took a little walk. We also checked out Virginia's Beach campground and Camp Fitch. Tuesday we golfed 18 at Crab Apple Ridge.
Thursday we went to the library and i went to the Heritage room and did a little geneology research while Alesa walked up to Frontier Park and back. That night we watched the Eagles get beat which was tough due to all the Steeler fans in the campground.
Today we rode the bikes up into town and visited the Erie Art Museum as well as the Erie Historical Museum. They were working on the Cashier's house part of the museum so we did not get to see the pot that Dr.
Saturday we went to the Erie Cemetery and took the walking tour of the notable Erie residents. It opened in 1850 and contained many of the 'movers and shakers' of the early Erie community.
