Been getting caught up with yard work and general house work/maintenance. We have also been playing a lot of golf. Alesa has been very eager to practice to make her game better.
Trip Log
On Monday we started packing or at least thought about packing. Jeff started the flooring so we went to Harbor Freight to buy a multitool because he decided not to remove the baseboard. He will cut the baseboard to be able to fit the laminate and underlayment beneath it.
The original plan was to raft the Salt River with the girls and we decided to stick to the plan without them. Bailey invited a couple of friends and Bridget didn't go so there were seven of us. This was on Saturday so the crowds were unbelievable.
Craig and Janet took the train to the starting point of their bike ride and have completed the first 2 days. The first day was fairly easy but the second day was into the mountains so it was a bit grueling but they completed it.
Sunday was a relaxing day with a nice picnic-type luncheon. A good way to spend the Memorial Day weekend. But, since Alesa is relentless at keeping us busy, we did play some pickleball. Today, we went to 'First Watch' for breakfast.
Friday was our last day of golf here in Arizona and we had a great round with Jeff and John. Elyse and Annika will be here next week and then we will be heading home. Tim, the dog, has been ailing since he was startled by a loud noise and leapt from Alesa's lap the other day.
Yesterday we all went to the "Hole-in-the-Rock" for a short hike. It is a site in Papago park and collocated with the zoo located between ASU and the Sky Harbor airport and north of the Salt River. We hiked up to and through the hole and then to a little lake in front of the zoo.
Sat with our coffee this morning in Jeff's backyard watching the wildlife in the preserve. It's the water reclamation site behind Jeff's house which is also a park. We watched jackrabbits and lots of birds to include quail, hummingbirds, ducks and roadrunners.
We commented that our room was a little warm at night so yesterday Jeff noticed that the refrigerant line to the condenser for the A/C unit for the first floor had frozen up. This is usually caused by the refrigerant being low.
Alesa, Jeff, Bailey and I golfed on Saturday at Trilogy. It was windy, the course wasn't in the best condition and we didn't golf that well but we still had a lot of fun. It was a tiring round and we had gotten up early that morning to see the Joneses off.
