My nephew (and Jeff's cousin) Ron Jones and his wife Vicki have been vacationing in Utah and Arizona for the past week. They left the Grand Canyon this morning and arrived here before 1 this afternoon.
Trip Log
Jeff had 5 tons of landscape stones delivered and dumped on his driveway on Tuesday morning. So, we spent the day loading the wheelbarrow, dumping stones and spreading stones. It was a good workout and we cleared most of the pile in time for dinner.
Got a call Sunday morning that Bridget's car was broken into and things stolen. Jeff and Danielle went to her apartment to help her through the trauma. We were planning on a long bike ride with Jeff down the Queen Creek Wash so we went on our own.
On top of our normal activities, Alesa got her hair cut by her favorite hairdresser on Tuesday and then accompanied Danielle to her first dog training class for Fendi. Wednesday, Alesa and I biked to Fry's grocery store for a few things.
Saturday, we went to the Mesa Flea Market. It's a large market and we had a long walk. Bailey bought a cowboy hat and I replaced the magnetic ball marker I misplaced. We then did some grocery shopping for a Mothers' Day brunch.
Been busy since the Schaefers left. A lot of golf but mostly preparing for our trip to Arizona. Bought Elyse and Annika tickets to join us for the first week in June and we are looking forward to that. Mike says he will be busy and doesn't think he can join us. Bummer!
Steve and Laura arrived on Tuesday evening and left this morning to visit with her sister and niece for a few days before heading back to Maine.
We are pet sitting again. This time for neighbor Mike who is visiting with his daughter and her family for Easter. He belongs to the Villages butterfly club and plants milkweed in his yard to attract Monarch butterflies.
Golfed three times this week but got rained out on Thursday evening. It's been a rainy few days with strong thunderstorms this afternoon. Alesa has kept busy planting and tending her flowers and I planted peas and have been trimming bushes as they were too tall.
We are keeping busy walking, golfing, 'farmimg', planning travel and PT for my shoulder. Craig and Janet rented mountain bikes this morning on a trail just north of us. They are preparing for their ride in Spain this May which will be on mountain bikes, and they have been riding street bikes.
