The printed negative results of out last covid PCR tests were in our room last night se we are ready to go.

We took a late tour of Paris by motor coach, leaving at 9:15 and returning at 11:15 for a few hours sleep. it was a nice tour and the guide was very helpful. Drove by many sights and stopped at a few. Pictures through bus windows are blurry.

While the two optional tours for the afternoon were out, Versailles and Louvre, we stayed on the ship to pack because we have already been to both in the past. The boat set sail for Paris as they were leaving, they will rejoin the boat back in Paris.

Sailed to LePecq last night during a spirited game of a game best described as Name That Tune with some dancing bonus points. This morning we toured Napoleon's Chateau de Malmaison. This afternoon we are relaxing and packing.

Sailed in the morning and docked in the town of Les Andelys. The Chateau Gaillard is located there and was build by Richard the Lionheart as the first line of defense to prevent an invasion by the French. At that time Normandy was part of England.

Drove past Sword beach to the Pegasus Bridge. The Americans parachuted into Normandy the night before into the town of Sainte-Mere Eglise to secure the left flank of the invasion while the British parachuted and used gliders to capture the Pegasus bridge and secure the right flank.

We then drove to some high ground away from the beach to the Canadian cemetery. We had a little ceremony to place a wreath on the center monument. Alesa actually placed the wreath. We then had a short while to tour the cemetery.

We drove along the coast past Gold beach and stopped quickly to take pictures from a lookout then proceeded to Juno Beach. We were greeted by a guide from London, Ontario who gave us an overview.

Today we are doing the Normandy Beaches. We are going to the Commonwealth beaches because we have already been to the American beaches and would like to see the Bayeux Tapestry in addition to the other beaches; Gold and Sword, both British and Juno, Canadian.

Another free and easy morning as we sailed from Vernon to Rouen. After lunch we docked in Rouen and went on the walking tour. Rouen is the city of 100 spires but we only visited a few, the primary one being the cathedral of Notre Dame.
