Alesa had surgery on her right eye this morning. She will have the left eye done in a couple of weeks. She is getting new lenses in the process so she should no longer have to wear glasses. She is doing very well but will rest for the remainder of the day to let the 'drugs' wear off.
Trip Log
Left Orangeburg early on the morning of the 30th and pretty much missed all the traffic. Google routed us around an accident when we reached Florida.
Our next-door neighbor in the Villages, Lois, moved to the Charlotte area a few years ago and we try to visit and stay with her whenever we pass through the area. Again, due to covid, we decided not to stay and to just have lunch with her and continue on toward home.
Drove down to Harrisonburg, Virginia today to visit with Mike Hulvey, Alesa's cousin. Craig and Janet spent Christmas with their daughter Kate and her family in Frederick, MD. Since Craig has not seen his cousin for about 40 years we asked them to join us.
Today was our 52nd wedding anniversary and we were greeted by snow this morning which was great to see but it was gone by noon. We visited with my sister Marilyn and Helen who arrived as we were leaving to take Marilyn for a doctor appointment.
Left Mike's early this morning and drove to State College where Elyse is isolated with covid 19. We dropped off gifts at her door and visited from afar. We also picked up some groceries to get her through her isolation. She should be headed home for New Years.
Had the Zoom session with Mike, Lisa, Annika, Alesa and me here, Jeff, Danielle, Bailey and Bridget in Arizona and Elyse in State College. Since we are separated at Christmas, we have been doing a secret Santa name draw for the last two years which makes gift giving much less complicated.
Thought I would do an early posting before things get festive (crazy). Went to Paris Baguette, a pastry shop, to check out their goodies and bought a few before heading next door to the H Mart Elkins Park. It's a gigantic Korean food market with a lot of specialties.
Two busy days in Abington. Yesterday we went to Best Buy to look at Kindles as Alesa's is getting old and fading and we wanted to get a better idea of what was available. We got a good idea of what models were available but they had none in stock.
Friday, we went to Craig & Janet's because Alesa & Craig's sister Tracy and her husband Pat were back in Florida visiting from Grove City, PA. Alesa helped prepare a dinner and we had a nice visit and were joined by Zack and Cathy and their kids.
