Last morning coffee, last bike ride, last dip in the pool (including panda head) and finalized our packing amidst goodbyes. Notified that our 5:10 PM flight was delayed to 6:25 so we delayed our trip to the airport a little. Jeff, Danielle and Bailey took us to the airport.
Trip Log
Today is our last full day in Arizona and we fly out at 5:11 tomorrow evening. My old phone was delivered today by FedEx Ground and we took it to the Verizon store and traded it in for a $700 credit on Bailey's new phone.
Called the Apple support line and after over an hour they recreated all the problems I had then were finally able to download the file to Alesa's ringtones. She is very happy to now have Bailey's voice announcing her calls.
During morning coffee saw all the critters hide in the basin as a hawk landed in a tree. After breakfast Jeff, Danielle, Alesa and I played pickleball after the morning crowd cleared. Cooled off in the pool and watched a roadrunner run through the yard, beep! beep!.
Having missed last Christmas with family it was decided that today we would do some of the Christmas traditions. Started the day watching the coyotes hunt in the basin. Jeff rebuilt his floating beer pong table using ASU colors as close as he could.
Today we golfed the Dinosaur Mountain course at Gold Canyon Golf Resort in the shadow of the Superstition Mountains. You can see the humps in some of the pictures which makes it look like a sleeping dinosaur.
Flying home next Wednesday evening. Took a long bike ride this morning. Jeff was going to go but he had a call with his new job. He got a great package from Dupont and starts a new job in a couple of weeks.
Got some rain last night. Jeff said about a quarter of an inch but we slept through it. Sprinkled very lightly a couple of times during the day but it looks like most of it fell on the west and north valley.
Did our normal walk this morning and settled in for the day. The family were all at work so we had much of the day to ourselves. Alesa's new iPhone is keeping us busy and providing a good reason for some R&R.
Took a 4 mile desert hike today in the San Tan mountains. It was a nice walk with plenty of water, a breeze and only 106 degrees. We walked the Dynamite Trail and the path was rocky but not too steep.
