Trip Log

November 11, 2019

Jeff wants to install a pool heater and we have been investigating options: electric, natural gas, propane or heat pump. Pretty much settled on natural gas except for the cost of installing a gas line.

Today was a busy day. This morning we all went to LA Fitness for racquetball, basketball and the exercise machines then back home for lunch. Jeff rented a car for his trip to the airport on Tuesday but also to relieve the stress of a single car.

November 9, 2019

This morning Jeff, Bridget, Alesa & I walked to 'The Nook' a breakfast spot about a mile north of here. Danielle joined us after a dentist appointment and we had a very nice breakfast.

November 8, 2019

Jeff was home but worked most of the day as Alesa and I rested and caught up with 'things'. I walked the dog while Jeff and Alesa rode bikes in the afternoon. After Danielle got back from work we went shopping at Costco and Sam's Club. In the evening we enjoyed time outside.

November 7, 2019

Jeff flew off to Cupertino this morning but will be back late tonight. Danielle is at work and Bridget is in school. We had a nice breakfast then went for a hike around the area behind the house and to a retail area just to the north. Walked 4 miles in all then back for lunch and a rest.

November 6, 2019

Golfed on Sunday and watched football. Busy packing (or, at least, thinking about it) for most of the day. Monday we were hard at packing and Lois arrived in the afternoon. Lois was our next door neighbor here before she moved to Charlotte.

November 2, 2019

Went to a breakfast on Tuesday with the Korean veterans group. A few WWII vets and I was surprised by the number, like me, who served in Korea after the armistice in 1953. I joined the group and will see how it works out.

October 28, 2019

Met with our insurance advisor on Tuesday and switched our Part D to move from $58 to $13 a month. Also attended the men's water volleyball tournament that day: not on a team so we just watched. Gene Fales is back in town for a few weeks so they stopped over on Thursday.

October 21, 2019

October is Muhly grass month here in The Villages. A little late this year but most of it has turned pink. Backing off water volleyball to once a day mostly due to appointments (medical, financial and medical insurance) but also because we get too tired and sore after four hours.

October 15, 2019

After wishing our oldest the happiest of birthdays we drove down to St. Joseph's Hospital in Tampa to sit with Janet while Craig had a knee replaced. We saw him for a few minutes before he went up, kept Janet company during the surgery and left as he was coming out of recovery.
