Bailey's 19th birthday is on the 8th but he is headed back to school tonight and we will not see him again before we leave. So, on his request, Alesa baked a giant chocolate chip cookie and we had a birthday party for him after dinner this evening.
Trip Log
We played racquetball this morning and this afternoon Jeff and Danielle picked up her sister, Jackie at the airport. Watched football much of the day to include watching Arizona State beat Arizona for the Territorial Cup. Tried to do that outside but it was just too cold.
Leftovers, football, cleaning up after last night's storm, leftovers and farewell pictures. Renewed our rental for another week, took some practice photos for the best use of the sun, took farewell photos and I drove Mike and family to the Phoenix airport for their trip home.
Yesterday was another wonderful Crawford holiday. Thanks to Jeff & Danielle and family for hosting and to Mike & Lisa and family for flying out west to join us. It was a great day of family with food, gobble wobbles, games and football.
After breakfast we went to the Superstition mountains and The Lost Dutchman State Park for a long hike. Bridget had school and Bailey wasn't feeling well so they didn't go. We took a longer but less steep hike to the high point at the base of the cliffs.
Spent Sunday watching football and some slept. Took a walk at dusk in the neighborhood to check out Christmas lights. Yesterday we did some last minute Thanksgiving shopping and prepared for the incoming Crawfords. Mike and family left Philly around 6 PM and arrived in Phoenix at around 9:30.
Helped a little with some yard work and replaced a tire tube on a bicycle. Tried to patch the hole but it was too big so bought a tube on Amazon yesterday. Now we can ride. Watched ASU upset Oregon (Sweet!) then watched the rest of White Christmas.
Jeff worked a bit this morning and then we headed to Saguaro Lake Park about 32 miles north of here. Bailey had mentioned that he was cliff diving there with some friends from school and Jeff was interested in checking it out and it was also a place we wanted to see.
Been a cool and wet couple of days which is very rare for the Phoenix area. Glad we came back a little early because travel could have been a little iffy. No snow until yesterday in our travel zone. Arizona Snowbowl got 22 inches of snow today so I guess they are going to open tomorrow.
Yesterday was a relaxing and 'shopping for Thanksgiving' day. This morning we dropped Jeff off at the airport for a day trip to Seattle and we headed south to Tombstone.
