Left home at 6 AM Sunday and arrived in Petersburg, VA for the night around 4:30. It rained most of the way but not very hard except for a few times. The traffic was very light heading north but the southbound side was very crowded with a number of long backups.
Trip Log
Busy getting ready for the holiday trip north. Still golfing and playing water volleyball. A few volleyball games have been cancelled due to cold and windy weather. Looking forward to the holidays with the family in Pa.
Craig and Janet spent the night to celebrate Alesa's birthday. I golfed this morning while Alesa showed them new hiking trails. After a nice turkey dinner/lunch Craig and Janet went with us to see "Knives Out" and they bought the tickets for Alesa's present.
Craig and Janet came up today to ride with us the Scott and Stacey's Christmas party at their home in DeLeon Springs. We also took the opportunity to visit with Betsey and Jennifer in Ormond Beach since it was about 25 miles east of the party.
Had my annual checkup at the VA while Alesa stayed home and cooked another turkey. I am in good health but can't say the same for the turkey. Tonight was the Erie Club Christmas dinner at Francesco's followed by a white elephant gift exchange. A good crowd, good food and good fun.
Pretty much unpacked the night we got back. Had my annual blood test at the VA on Friday and we did a lot of grocery shopping. Also had two of Alesa's rings enlarged since they were getting too hard to get on and off.
It is bittersweet to be home but we are. Had a great trip. Jeff and Danielle took us to the airport this morning and we had a nice flight back to Tampa. Craig and Janet picked us up and , after a short visit at their house, we headed back home.
Went to LA Fitness this morning with Alesa for a last few hits on the racquetball court. I took the rental back this afternoon and Jeff has wanted to do some exploring/hiking south of San Tan Mountain. The five of us piled in his car and headed toward Tucson.
Alesa ordered a custom made ring a few days ago from a Navajo artist (Rocky) at the Goldfield Ghost Town. It was supposed to be ready on Sunday but it wasn't so he promised it for Tuesday. Alesa sent a text this morning and he called so say it was ready.
Bailey is back at school, Bridget has school today and Danielle and Jeff are working so we played racquetball for an hour and a half this morning at LA Fitness. This afternoon we took Jackie with us to hike at the San Tan Mountain Park.
