Since Alesa is no longer in the TBR dragon boat club, we passed chairmanship of the Lake Hills School committee to a new person but I will probably remained involved. Alesa is on two other teams so she keeps dragon boating. Tonight we went to the Chester County (Pa) club meeting.
Trip Log
I ran the weekly Gilly games, Alesa paddled and after lunch we drove to Lakeland to celebrate Memorial Day with Lynn & Tony. In addition to the Garifi family and friends, Mary Sue & Jim and Pat & Tracy were there. We had a good time and it was great to catch up.
We were on standby all weekend because Craig and Janet were renting a truck yesterday and moving their 'stuff' to the Tampa house (Lutz, actually). They were picking the truck up early, having Zach help them load, driving to Lutz and having us join them to help unload.
When Ann & Ed Dawson came down for the winter they brought a lot of frozen fish which Ed had caught over the summer in Lake Erie. When they and Ed's sister, Bunni, headed back north they left us the remaining fish.
While we were riding around in the golf car yesterday to cool off after playing platform tennis, we ran across an interesting vehicle in the parking lot at Brownwood. According to the internet it is a Polaris Slingshot 3-wheeled roadster.
Yesterday we played ping-pong at Eisenhower then golfed at Palmetto before having dinner at the Evans Prairie Country Club. We had a great visit with Steve and Laura and they left at 4 this morning to head back to Maine. Today we pretty much took it easy which is a rare occurrence for us.
Steve arrived yesterday but we took it easy on him but we all did go to see DJ Scooter at the landing. Today we all played platform tennis, pickleball, swam and golfed. Today, our flag is at half mast for National Peace Officers' Memorial Day.
Monday we drove down to the intersection of I-4 and Rt-27 to meet Steve and Laura who had just flown in from Austin. Steve was on his way to Naples for a fishing trip so we brought Laura home with us and Steve will be coming back on Thursday.
Saturday we went down to the Tampa area, Lutz to be exact, to see Craig and Janet's new home They closed a month ago but rented it back to the sellers until last week. They had tile installed in all the public areas and rented a trailer to bring up some belongings.
Alesa has been drumming for the Silver Dragon race team and has been 'paddling' six days a week. She just quit the TBR team so is down to 3 days plus races. Now she is looking for new activities, that girl just won't quit. Sunday there was a race in Clermont.
