Today we met the Schweds and Goodmans at Longwood Gardens for a visit and a long walk. Schweds are members and Goodmans used to be so we got and all inclusive tour hitting all the high spots to include the daytime fountain show.
Trip Log
When we met with Tim yesterday he mentioned he was leasing a house on the 600 acre Stroud Preserve just outside of Marshallton, which is very close to Jeff's. So today we headed there and had a great 3+ mile hike on well kept trails and even saw a few deer.
Everybody went to work and school so we relaxed and shopped. Alesa and the family played Chinese checkers that night. On Tuesday we took the train into Philly to tour and see our Finance guy. And this afternoon we went golfing with Bailey.
We left Florida on Wednesday morning. We were going to leave on Monday but Alesa lost a filling on Saturday and got a crown on Tuesday afternoon. We spent Wednesday night in Lumberton, NC and arrived at Jeff's just before 4 on Thursday and finally met "Tim", their new miniature Dachshund.
Jeff was in Tampa this week on business and Thursday morning, after dropping associates off at the airport, he came here to spend some time. We had a great visit and appreciated his time. He flew out Friday on a 5 PM flight.
Walked around but didn't drive yesterday to let the crews clean up. Today we drove around in the golf cart and there is water and downed palm fronds everywhere.
We came through Irma unscathed with only a papaya tree down and a few missing branches and a lot of missing leaves. There is a lot of high water and the storm sewers are full up to the grates. Flooding is limited to the golf courses and open areas.
In addition to watching the coverage on TV we did do a little first-hand viewing. We used a pin-hole camera to track the progress and tried to get some pictures but it was just too bright.
Today we drove down to Craig and Janet's to celebrate Craig's birthday. It was a fun party and Zach and family and Tracy and Pat were there.
Tuesday we finally painted the master bedroom. Alesa has been planning it forever and bought the paint a couple of weeks ago. So, we got it done and played a little golf afterwards.
