Our niece Becca (Bob and Cathy's oldest), her husband Jason and their daughter Imogen are renting a condo at Jensens Beach and stopped over for the night after visiting with her aunt Mary Carol in Deland. We had a great time and are so pleased to have them visit.
Trip Log
Two new executive golf courses opened on Sunday and we have played them both. They are down in the new village of Fenney and are quite beautiful as they wind through 'Old Florida' landscape. The waterways down there are spring fed resulting in very clear running water.
Spent some of the last two days building a home for Alesa's shoes. They had been laid out on the closet floor and took up quite a bit of room, Now they are tucked away nice and neat in their new home. Did watch Prep win and Penn State lose their games today.
It has started to cool down a bit and we're loving it, but rest assured there will be plenty of hot days in the future. Most of the golf course are reopen after Irma but the influx of snowbirds makes it tougher to get tee times and the traffic is continuing to build.
Our neighbor, Lois, turns 80 on Monday so we had a little birthday get-together. We grilled some steaks and Lois and Mike and Janie Monaghan, from across the street, joined us for dinner followed by cake and ice cream.
Left Pa Tuesday morning the 10th, spent the night in Lumberton and arrived home on Wednesday around 4 in the afternoon. A couple of follow up doctor appointments for Alesa and all is better than well. She is back in platform tennis and we are back to golf.
Yesterday morning we played early tennis with Jeff and Danielle then headed over to Mike's for a couple of days. Mike and I watched the Penn State game while the girls shopped, got Elyse's dress ready for the homecoming dance and played Chinese checkers.
Today we met the Schweds and Goodmans at Longwood Gardens for a visit and a long walk. Schweds are members and Goodmans used to be so we got and all inclusive tour hitting all the high spots to include the daytime fountain show.
When we met with Tim yesterday he mentioned he was leasing a house on the 600 acre Stroud Preserve just outside of Marshallton, which is very close to Jeff's. So today we headed there and had a great 3+ mile hike on well kept trails and even saw a few deer.
Everybody went to work and school so we relaxed and shopped. Alesa and the family played Chinese checkers that night. On Tuesday we took the train into Philly to tour and see our Finance guy. And this afternoon we went golfing with Bailey.
