Trip Log

March 17, 2017

Have been pretty much pain free since Sunday, just uncomfortable and cautious. Have been walking around the neighborhood and spent yesterday afternoon shopping. Things are going very well and are pretty much back to normal except for no bending, twisting or lifting for the next 10 weeks.

March 12, 2017

Went in on Monday at 6 for surgery in Gainesville, an L4-5 Laminectomy with fusion. It went well and I was in my room by noon (I think). Craig and Paul & Carol waited with Alesa but Paul and Carol left before I got to my room. I was in no pain and walking around all afternoon.

March 5, 2017

Still golfing every day this week except for Wednesday when we went to Gainesville for my Pre-op visit at the doctors and the hospital. At the doctors they reviewed what they were going to do and built me a back brace.

February 27, 2017

My surgery is scheduled for Monday and that will put me on the DL for about 12 weeks so we have been golfing every day. Back is hurting but golf is still fun.

February 23, 2017

Alesa played platform and we golfed on Monday, yesterday was a rainy day and today we were headed to lunch with Ed and Ann Dawson but the dentist started a crown on Ed this morning and they canceled so we decided to head down to the Premium outlets and the new Costco by Craig.

February 20, 2017

Alesa is 100% back and has been playing platform. We golfed our usual Sunday morning round and played pickleball with Craig and Janet. I had an appointment with a Neurosurgeon in Gainesville on Wednesday and have scheduled an L4-5 Laminectomy and fusion for March 6th.

February 10, 2017

Jeff got Alesa a pressure cooker for Christmas and she got to use it today for the first time. She cooked a turkey and it only had to cook for 10 minutes once it got up to pressure which took about 10 minutes. It was delicious, and so moist, yum! Alesa continues to heal well from her surgery.

February 8, 2017

Tonight was the annual Smith's hot dog night for the Erie Club. We had to move to a larger rec center this year as we overloaded our regular rec center last year.

February 7, 2017

A little early for Mardi Gras which isn't until the 28th but The Villages is having celebrations in the town squares so we went to Lake Sumter Landing this afternoon. Today was my semi-annual trip to the Gainesville VA hospital to meet with my oncologist and refill my prescription.

February 5, 2017

I golfed this morning with the usual Sunday group but Alesa did not because she is nursing a sore ankle and needs to stay off of it for a few days. We stopped to visit Gene and Connie yesterday after they had unpacked the U-Haul he drove down from Atlanta.
