Trip Log

February 20, 2017

Alesa is 100% back and has been playing platform. We golfed our usual Sunday morning round and played pickleball with Craig and Janet. I had an appointment with a Neurosurgeon in Gainesville on Wednesday and have scheduled an L4-5 Laminectomy and fusion for March 6th.

February 10, 2017

Jeff got Alesa a pressure cooker for Christmas and she got to use it today for the first time. She cooked a turkey and it only had to cook for 10 minutes once it got up to pressure which took about 10 minutes. It was delicious, and so moist, yum! Alesa continues to heal well from her surgery.

February 8, 2017

Tonight was the annual Smith's hot dog night for the Erie Club. We had to move to a larger rec center this year as we overloaded our regular rec center last year.

February 7, 2017

A little early for Mardi Gras which isn't until the 28th but The Villages is having celebrations in the town squares so we went to Lake Sumter Landing this afternoon. Today was my semi-annual trip to the Gainesville VA hospital to meet with my oncologist and refill my prescription.

February 5, 2017

I golfed this morning with the usual Sunday group but Alesa did not because she is nursing a sore ankle and needs to stay off of it for a few days. We stopped to visit Gene and Connie yesterday after they had unpacked the U-Haul he drove down from Atlanta.

February 2, 2017

The weather was great today, so we don't mind six more weeks of this stuff. Alesa was on the platform tennis court this morning but she was only serving, no running. She is just building back up without overdoing it.

January 31, 2017

Alesa saw her surgeon today for her follow up visit. He removed the drain and all of the staples and said she is doing very well and good to go. While she is free to eat any food and do any activity, she plans to take it easy for a few days and ramp up slowly.

January 27, 2017

Made Alesa scrambled eggs and pancakes for breakfast this morning. She is feeling better every day. She sees her primary care doctor on Monday and her surgeon on Thursday. She should get her drain and staples removed and find out when she can resume normal activities.

January 25, 2017

Alesa is doing very well and we are walking around the neighborhood. Ken and Sue Schwed visited for an hour or so on their way from Pennsylvania to their first Florida stop in Disneyworld.

January 24, 2017

Alesa is home as of this afternoon and doing very well. Still a little tired so she'll take it easy for the next week until her doctor's appointment a week from Thursday.
