Trip Log

February 2, 2017

The weather was great today, so we don't mind six more weeks of this stuff. Alesa was on the platform tennis court this morning but she was only serving, no running. She is just building back up without overdoing it.

January 31, 2017

Alesa saw her surgeon today for her follow up visit. He removed the drain and all of the staples and said she is doing very well and good to go. While she is free to eat any food and do any activity, she plans to take it easy for a few days and ramp up slowly.

January 27, 2017

Made Alesa scrambled eggs and pancakes for breakfast this morning. She is feeling better every day. She sees her primary care doctor on Monday and her surgeon on Thursday. She should get her drain and staples removed and find out when she can resume normal activities.

January 25, 2017

Alesa is doing very well and we are walking around the neighborhood. Ken and Sue Schwed visited for an hour or so on their way from Pennsylvania to their first Florida stop in Disneyworld.

January 24, 2017

Alesa is home as of this afternoon and doing very well. Still a little tired so she'll take it easy for the next week until her doctor's appointment a week from Thursday.

January 23, 2017

Alesa continues to get better and better. The doctor put her on a soft solid diet this morning and said she may be able to go home tomorrow. She is unhooked from everything now and is roaming the halls. She is making a point to rest and not overdo it.

January 20, 2017

Alesa is doing well today. We walked around the floor quite a bit and she is pretty much down to the pain of the surgery. The doctor put her on a liquid diet tonight which is a welcome improvement from only ice chips. Don't know yet when she will be released but we hope it is soon.

January 19, 2017

Alesa had a tough night last night but did better today. She was able to walk up and down the hallway. But the recovery is a little tougher than she expected. The sunsets are from in front of our house the other night.

January 18, 2017

Alesa had her surgery today for her diverticulitis. It was planned as a 'keyhole' surgery but the surgeon had to 'hand assist' at the end, so we don't know how large the incision is.

January 15, 2017

Craig & Janet and Pat & Tracy came up on Saturday and we played a few hours of pickleball after I got home from the Erie club board meeting. After recuperating we had a dinner of pot pies and shepard's pie which Alesa prepared. Then we watched football.
