After Alesa did her platform tennis mentoring we spent the morning landscaping. We put up a large cage and transplanted spaghetti squash plants under it. We installed our Pig weathervane and an irrigation bubbler by a large firecracker bush we just transplanted.
Trip Log
Happy Dyngus Day everybody. A Polish holiday celebrated on the Monday after Easter to insure a good harvest. Buffalo and Cleveland are known for their Dyngus Day celebrations.
Thursday was the last Erie Club meeting of the season. It was bunco night with the club supplying subs, chips and cupcakes. This year I had it easy because of my back surgery. I only had to order the subs and someone else picked them up.
We bought an air fryer a few days ago and have been busy testing it out using the original recipes. Some are good and the others aren't too bad but we will have to adjust the recipes to make them better.
Dinner tonight at the Lighthouse Point Cafe in Lake Sumter Landing. We went with Lois and Mike and Janie Monaghan. Lois is heading out next week to Owego for the summer and Mike and Janie have a number travel excursions planned for the next few weeks.
Steve and Jackie Ipp spent the last 3 months in Portugal, Spain, Turkey, Greece and Israel. They rent out their house every winter and travel the world. They have friends take care of any local issues (mail, vehicles, etc.) while they are gone.
Alesa and I have both had our DNA tested for our ancestry. Alesa is Europe West, Scandinavia, Ireland, Italy/Greece and Iberian Peninsula while I am Europe West, Ireland, Italy/Greece and Great Britain. They just started providing areas in the USA where your DNA matches reside.
This afternoon we went to 'The Sharon' a high end theater on the Spanish Springs town square which brings in big name and fine arts type entertainment. Today was a reception and a show by Rick Thomas, a well known magician. It was a very entertaining show.
Had my Post-op Dr.'s appointment on Wednesday and he was surprised at how well I was doing. Most people come in still in pain and on pain meds. I haven't had any pain for two weeks now. I am cleared to swim, drive and ramp up my activity a bit.
Continuing to heal and feeling well. Alesa golfed with our usual Sunday group this week. She will alternate between platform tennis boot camp and golf each week while I am on the DL.
