Elyse's 16th birthday last Wednesday. Golf with Maloneys on Thursday but Alesa had to stay home with a sore back. Seems the dragon boat team decided it was a better idea to carry the boat into the lake rather than pushing the trailer. ??
Trip Log
A picture of the article in today's paper. Alesa is second from the right.
Alesa's cousin on her mother's side whom we visited near Harrisonburg, Va. when we traveled. Alesa lived with her and her family for a while after high school.
Had an open day on our calendar so I asked Alesa to go to lunch in Sanford. She had no idea where we were going and expected the worse but was pleasantly surprised when we went to Hollerbach's Willow Tree Café in the historic section of downtown Sanford.
Been a while since we posted but we have been keeping busy with our normal golf, platform tennis, swimming and dragon boating. Alesa and I have both been to the doctors for sore bodies, my back and Alesa's neck.
Had dinner last night with the Dawsons since Ed and Ann are heading back to Erie tomorrow morning. Paul and Carol and Ed's sister, Bunni, also joined us. Today we went to Clermont for the Dragon boat races. Alesa team won the gold with the best time of the day.
And we are glad to have them. It has been Golf and pickleball everyday interspersed with a lot of eating and drinking. They were with their daughter and family at Disneyworld and returned here on Friday. We have been keeping busy.
Alesa and I spent a couple of hours at the American Legion inspecting flags to be placed at each grave at the Florida National Cemetery just south of here. Quite a few people volunteered and it will take a number of days to prepare the 40,000 flags which will be needed for Memorial Day.
Steve and Laura arrived last night on their way from Steve's mother's in Austin to meet their daughter (Gretchen) and her family at Disneyworld later today. We took them across the street to the neighbors for a happy hour then drove them by her nephew's new house.
The last Erie club meeting of the season was last night. I picked up 8 each 6 foot subs from Walmart and we had 73 people attend and play Bunco.
