We crossed the mountains again today but the road wasn't as steep or winding. There was a haze all day due to the wildfires near Susanville and it got worse as we got closer. We couldn't get a good picture of Mount Shasta or of Mount Lassen when we stopped at the volcanic park. Mt.

We went down the coast and turned East which made Alesa's day. We came across route 299 to Redding. It was a beautiful trip but had a lot of ups and downs and sharp turns. We were on the North bank of the Trinity river most of the time which meant Alesa was looking over cliffs; not good! We d

We have a lot of tree pictures. They were truly unbelievable, you just can't get used to the scale of the trees. I think we have lost the autofocus on the camera, so I hope the pictures stay in focus. Anyway, "You can't depend on your eyes, when your imagination is out of focus".

It hit near 100 degrees today so we toured the tri-cities (Kennewick, Pasco and Richland) in the morning, walked and shopped in the mall, took Alesa to a movie (Harry Potter) in the afternoon and then back to the air conditioned trailer. We may hit the hot tub and pool again later this evening.
We left Idaho and went throught Spokane. We were both surprised at how flat southeast Washington is. It is more like desert or prairie than what we expected. We are now in Pasco on the Columbia River just north of the Oregon border. We will spend two nights here so we hope to have more pictu
