Walked into the town of Split with the tour guide and walked through the partially restored ancient retirement palace of the Roman emperor Diocletian. Then back for food and drinks and we attended a musical show by Melanie Stevens.
Trip Log
Took a water taxi from the ship to St Mark's Square in Venice. We had a short Viking led tour through some Venice streets and then had some time of our before catching the water taxi back. We toured some more streets then spent time in St Mark's square.
Yesterday afternoon we parked at ParknGo and were shuttled to terminal C at the Orlando airport. It opened in late September and everything was brand new with all kinds of facilities, amenities and diversions.
When life gives you lemons, you make lemonade. And that's what we've been doing as our lemon tree is full of lemons. We also continue to give a lot to the neighbors.
It's finally October, the September love bugs are gone, the muhly grass has turned purple and it's only a month until our Mediterranean cruise. We have done all of the pre-cruise requirements with Viking and only have a couple of 'doctor' things to do.
Ian missed us and stayed to the south. It was a bit windy through the night and we got a couple of inches of rain but we got a good night's sleep and everything is good this morning.
After a week of dog-sitting I took Alesa to dinner at the Wolfgang Puck restaurant near Brownwood for a fine dining experience. Since it was a date we both dressed up a bit. It was a fun night out and Alesa had the best Pork Schnitzel ever.
We (Alesa) are watching the neighbor's dog while she visits family in New Hampshire. Ladybug came over on the 10th and will be going home on the 22nd.
The picture is a Google Map Timeline created from my phone's map activity of the places we stopped/stayed during our recent trip. We have been home for a week and a day and still haven't fully recovered. Just haven't readjusted to the heat and humidity.
Arrived home before 1 this afternoon. We unloaded and unpacked then went out for a nice dinner at the Havana country club. A little grocery shopping and we are home for a good rest. Tomorrow will be a good catch-up day.
